SMART IRRIGATION

Sprinkler Head (Sprays)

CONSERVATION IS MORE THAN JUST SAVING WATER

While saving water is a very important part of conservation, there is much more. Conservation is also conserving the beautiful and green landscapes that we already have. Turf grass is not only beautiful to look at but is also a way to mitigate the heat-island effect and reduce energy consumption. Have you ever burnt your feet walking on grass? Didn't think so. Researchers have calculated that the front lawns of just 8 average houses provide the cooling effect of about 70 tons of air conditioning.

SUSTAINABLE LANDSCAPES

Did you know that symptoms of under watering and overwatering can be very similar?  Yellowing of plant material. Smart Irrigation replaces only the water the plant uses (transpiration) & the water lost to evaporation. Together this is called Evapotranspiration (ET). Healthy turf grass & plants absorb carbon dioxide and trap pollutants. Grass is such and efficient carbon-dioxide/oxygen converter that through the process of photosynthesis, an area just 50 feet by 50 feet generates enough oxygen to meet the needs of a family of 4 for a single day

THE RIGHT PEOPLE MAKE THE DIFFERENCE

The right people truly make the difference when it comes to Smart Irrigation Technology. As the adage goes, garbage in garbage out. Smart Controllers have more inputs and are more complex to program. Because of that, it is imperative to have an irrigation professional who is trained & certified in auditing sprinkler systems so the correct Precipitation Rate (PR) can be determined per zone. A certified water manager can be invaluable to insure that the irrigation equipment selected is the most efficient and installed for maximum water uniformity.

water conservation: Where to start

SAVING WATER & MONEY:

Using up to date technology we can help you and your site use the recommended amount of water, saving you time and money.

Feat. Weathermatic Smart Controller, weather sensor, aircard, flow sensor, and mobile access.

Start with an irrigation audit* or site inspection to determine the necessary updates and/or repairs.

GOOD:

Installation of a smart controller that will use weather information to determine the amount and frequency of watering.

The Aircard allows remote access to your controller. This allows your controller to be programmed and managed offsite using mobile devices. It is a great feature that permits immediate attention when needed.

BETTER: Flow sensors allow your controllers to monitor water usage and flow while sending alerts of any leaks, broken pipes or sprinklers, malfunctioning valves, or any other water related incident you could easily miss without it but most importantly it acts immediately shutting the zone down to avoid any further water waste.

Want to save even more?

BEST: For even higher savings you can combine either option 1 (good) or 2 (best) with sprinkler upgrades. The use of high efficiency sprinkler heads and nozzles work together to give your site the highest DU (distribution uniformity) giving your site the right amount of water without any waste.

Your site can be upgraded at your own pace to achieve bigger water savings. Other saving opportunities and features can be added later on.

COMBINE OPTION 1 (GOOD) OR 2 (BETTER) WITH A COMPLETE SPRINKLER UPGRADE TO MAXIMIZE YOUR SAVINGS :

  • HIGH EFFICIENCY SPRINKLER HEADS

  • HIGH EFFICIENCY NOZZLES

Smart Controller, Aircard, Weather Sensor, Flow Sensor.
Various Sprinkler Heads, and Nozzles.

NOTE: Smart Controllers require that irrigation systems work properly and in an efficient way for example, no broken valves, pipes, leaks, proper sprinkler heads for specific landscapes, nozzles, etc. We can perform an irrigation audit or site inspection before any upgrade to ensure everything is working.
